Here's some more of my racing pictures. This time it's just a random selection from British tracks, in the late '80's and early '90's.
Looking back, the ZZR 600 seemed an unlikely bike to race, but for the Supersport 600 class, Kawasaki didn't have anything else.
This ZXR750 is a bit more racey though.
Honda's sports touring VFR750 was originally sold as a semi race replica, to take on GSXR's and FZ's. Does anyone remember Ron Haslam riding a standard version in the 1987 Transatlantic Challenge, and doing quite well. The bike sold out after that brilliant display, but it seems Ron gets no credit for the sales success. Over time the bike has totally lost it's racing heritage.
An early shot of Trevor Nation on the JPS Norton.
And his team mate Steve Spray.
When ex GP rider Paul lewis was racing this Ducati in Britain, it was a full spec 888 superbike racing against home built specials in the national Battle of the Twins. Unsurprisingly he did win. _________________ www.od-racing.co.uk

Here's Paul Lewis again, flat out down the straight, his small build helping the aerodynamics.
Here's a very early shot of the Norton Rotary, before they had the JPS sponsorship.
Kawasaki's KR1S in full Supersport 400 spec.
That Ducati was nicknamed 'The Fossil' when this picture was taken, but that was 20 years ago now!
Darren Dixon here used to be a top sidecar racer, and then had a go at solo racing with some success.
Imagine you're racing your heart out, in the wet, and doing quite well in fourth, to see a motocrosser ahead of you running in third.
Carl Fogarty before his career took off with Ducati. Honda Britain didn't spend much on their paintscheme back then, just some red paint and vinyl letters. _________________ www.od-racing.co.uk
